DATEV export

Use this page to extract financial data and then export to a CSV file. You can upload the file to your DATEV solution.

From the main list, you can export the list of export records to a CSV or Excel file.

This page only displays if the DATEV service option is ON.

To ensure compliance with DATEV standards, follow the instructions on the DATEV configuration and settings page before exporting data.

Create an export

To export data to a CSV file, you need to select the data to include.

  1. Select Create to open the DATEV export settings wizard.

    You can select the link to the DATEV configuration page if you need to change or update settings before exporting.
  2. Enter a unique 30-character ID for tracking.

  3. Locked is selected by default. This refers to a required field in the header for each file exported.

  4. Select a company with German legislation.

  5. Enter a date range to include data within those dates. By default, the previous month is entered.

  6. Enter the start of the fiscal year. The current year is entered by default.

  7. You can enter dimension types if desired. Active dimensions and attributes can be selected, but you cannot enter the same value for both dimension types.

  8. If you enter one or both dimension types, they are included in the exported journal entry file.

  9. By default, journal entries are included, but you can clear the checkbox.

  10. The accounts, and customers and suppliers are all included by default. But you can change which to export.

  11. When you save, the export record is saved as a draft.

  12. The export record displays.

Add missing DATEV IDs

If any of the records that are to be exported are missing DATEV IDs, you can add the missing data in the export record draft.

Any accounts missing DATEV IDs display on the Accounts without DATEV ID tab. Select the link to the account to open a window where you can enter the DATEV ID for the account.

Any customers missing DATEV IDs display on the Customers without DATEV ID tab. Select the link to the customer record to open a window where you can enter the DATEV ID for the customer.

Any suppliers missing DATEV IDs display on the Suppliers without DATEV ID tab. Select the link to the supplier record to open a window where you can enter the DATEV ID for the supplier.

Remember to save your changes.

Extract data

When all necessary DATEV IDs are present in records to be exported, you can extract the data.

For large data sets, you can leave the page. You receive a notification when the extraction process is finished. Select Results in the notification message to return to the export record.

You can view extracted accounts and/or customers and suppliers. Each tab displays data according to the criteria entered for the current export record.

At this time, you can make adjustments, delete records and so on. You can re-extract data until you perform an export. After exporting, you can no longer make any adjustments.

Export

When you're satisfied with the extracted data, you can export the data to a CSV file. One file is generated for each data type: accounts, customers and suppliers.

The export process works in the background, so you can continuing working uninterrupted. When complete, you can download the files from the Notification centre.

You can re-export, but you cannot make a data changes as noted above.

You can export from the main list by selecting Export from the More actions menu on a line or from the Export button on an export record.

Track exports

In the notification, you can select History. This accesses the Batch task history page where you can see details for the export. Select the Logs tab to see any warnings and the CSV files.
