Field descriptions: Production tracking

This page describes the fields for the Production tracking page. The fields in each section are listed in alphabetical order.

Work order criteria block

Field Description
From end date
To end date

The end or required completion date.

For a single day, enter or select the same date for the From end date and To end date fields.

Enter or select the required dates to track receipt of released items for a range of work order completion dates.

Leave blank to include all work orders awaiting tracking.

From released item
To released item

The finished item name. The released item is defined as a bill of material.

Enter or select the same item code for the From released item and To released item fields to filter for a single released item to track.

Enter or select the required item codes to track receipt of a range of released items.

Leave blank to track receipt of all released items.

From start date
To start date

The planned production start date.

For a single day, enter or select the same date for the From start date and To start date fields.

Enter or select the required dates to track receipt of released items for a range of production start dates.

Leave blank to include all work orders awaiting tracking.

From work order
To work order

The work order reference.

Enter or select the same work order reference for the From work order and To work order fields to track receipt of released items for a single work order.

Enter or select the required work order references to track receipt of released items for a range of work orders.

Leave blank to receipt of released items for all work orders.

Site

The production site code.

Leave blank to include all production sites.

Status

The current status or progress of the work orders.

Completed: Completed work orders. All components, operations and released items are tracked in full.

In progress: Work orders with one or more tracked components, operations or released items.

Pending: Work orders not yet tracked. There are no receipts from production for the work orders.

Leave blank to include all work orders awaiting tracking.

Work orders grid

The list of work orders in production filtered from the selection criteria in the Work order criteria block.

Field Description
Actual qty.

The quantity of the finished item received from production.

The Released qty. and the Actual qty. can be different. You can receive more or fewer than the planned production quantity.

The quantity is expressed in the Stock unit defined on the released Item record.

Automatic material tracking

Indicates if the components are to be backflushed and consumed in proportion to the Actual qty. of the Released item received from production.

Select to backflush the number of components based on the component quantities defined in the bill of material. The components are consumed and tracked automatically if the component is at Pending or In progress status and the component is not managed by lot, by expiry date or by serial numbers.

The Status of each tracked component changes to Completed.

Leave clear to track actual consumed component quantities. Enter component quantities on the Material tracking page.

Automatic time tracking

Indicates if the routing operations are to be backflushed and consumed in proportion to the Actual qty. of the Released item received from production.

Select to backflush the operation quantities and resource operation times based on the operation details for the routing. The resources and the operations are consumed and tracked automatically if the routing operation is at Pending or In progress status.

The Status of each operation and operation resource changes to Completed.

Leave clear to track actual consumed quantities for each operation. Enter operation quantities on the Time tracking page.

Completed

Indicates if the Completed qty. is tracked in full and production of the finished item is complete.

The checkbox is selected by default if the work order is complete or the finished item is tracked in full.

The Completed qty. and the Released qty. can be different.

Completed qty.

The quantity of the finished item that has already been received and tracked.

The quantity is expressed in the Stock unit defined on the released Item record.

Name

The routing name assigned to the work order reference Number.

The routing is defined for the Released item.

Number The work order reference.
Released item

The finished item code.

The item is defined as a bill of material.

Released item name

The finished item name.

The item is defined as a bill of materials.

Released qty.

The planned production quantity.

The quantity is expressed in the Stock unit defined on the released Item record.

Status

The current status or progress of the work order.

Completed: The components, operations and released items are tracked in full.

In progress: One or more components, operations or released items are tracked.

Pending: The work order is not yet tracked.

Stock detail status

The status of the stock receipt details for the work order line.

Required: The stock receipt details are missing or incomplete. You need to enter the stock receipt details.

Entered: The stock receipt details are complete.

Not required: The work order line is not selected. Stock details are not required.

Stock receipt detail window

Displayed when you select Stock details from the More actions icon. Enter details for the finished items in the Stock details grid. You can receive the finished items as a single receipt or split the receipt by inspection and quality assurance rating, or to distribute the items across different bins in the warehouse or workshop, or into different lots or batches. The Serial numbers grid is displayed when you need to enter serial numbers.

Item

The finished item name.

The item is defined as a bill of materials.

Quantity

The quantity of the finished item received from production.

The quantity is expressed in the Stock unit defined on the Item record.

Site The production site name.

Stock details grid

Field Description
Expiry date

The date after which the items in the lot should not be used.

Location

The specific storage space in the warehouse or workshop for the full or the split quantity of the finished item.

Location management is only possible if activated for the production site.

Lot

The identification number or batch code the full or the split quantity of the finished item is stored in.

Lot management is only possible if the Item is managed by lot on the Item record.

New lot

Indicates if the Lot identification number is a new lot or an existing lot.

Quantity in stock unit

The quantity of the finished item to be stored in a specific storage location in the warehouse or workshop.

The quantity is expressed in the Stock unit defined on the released Item record.

Serial number

Serial number entry instructions.

To be assigned: The received item is serial numbered. Add the serial numbers used in production to the Serial numbers grid.

To be generated: The received item is serial numbered. You do not need to enter serial numbers. The serial numbers are generated when you generate the production tracking.

Partially assigned: There is a discrepancy between the finished item receipt quantity and the assigned quantity of serial numbers. Add all the serial numbers used in production to the Serial numbers grid.

Assigned: All serial numbers used in production are assigned to the received item.

Status

The inspection and quality assurance rating of the full or the split quantity of the finished item in the specific Lot or storage Location.

Sublot The subdivision of the lot. A sublot is for the same item as the lot but might be in a different location, have a different status and a different quantity to the lot.

Serial numbers grid

Field Description
From serial number

The serial number or the lowest of a range of serial numbers on the finished items.

Quantity

The quantity of sequential serial numbers on the finished items.

Enter 1 if the finished items have ad hoc serial numbers.

To serial number

This serial number is entered automatically. It displays the last serial number of a range of sequential serial numbers or the From serial number if the Quantity is 1.

Dimensions window

Displayed when you select Dimensions from the More actions icon for a line. Defines attributes and dimensions that can be used to aggregate financial information for analytical purposes.

You can only select dimensions and attributes that already exist.

Field Description
Channel

Identifies a channel dimension.

Department

Identifies a department dimension.

Employee Identifies an employee attribute.
Project

Identifies a project attribute. When you include a project, the Task field is available.

Region Identifies a region dimension.
Task If you selected a project, identifies a task. Tasks are linked to projects.
