Dimension type

Use this function to create and manage dimension types. Dimension types are groups of dimensions. Dimensions are used to aggregate financial information for analytical purposes.

For example:

• Use a Division dimension type to breakdown the company's activity by division with one dimension per division.
• Use a Sector dimension type to analyse revenue by geographic area with one dimension per region.
• Use a Vehicle dimension type to track the costs of operating company vehicles with one dimension per vehicle.

Create a dimension type

1. Select Add icon to define a new dimension type.
   
2. Enter a unique name.
3. For Document property, enter the field that stores the dimensions for this dimension type in documents.
4. Save your changes.

Edit or delete a dimension type

You can edit any of the fields at any time.

You cannot delete a dimension type if it has dimensions allocated to it.
